Fixed public IP address

Every device connected to the internet receives a unique address called an IP address. This name is visible to the user and is used to trace all internet activity back to them. Due to the increased number of devices on the internet, it is almost impossible to assign a unique address to every device. Because dynamic IP addresses change constantly, many providers issue them. This makes it difficult to use these internet addresses, as they change continuously. Moreover, most dynamic IP addresses come from a large number of providers and are rarely used. Static IP addresses allow users access to devices from the outside, but dynamic IP addresses are not disadvantageous. They can be easily changed and are often more cost-effective. Each device must be secured individually and is easier to hack than with a fixed private IP address.

Fixed private IP addresses, just like public IP addresses, have the characteristic of remaining the same and can therefore be linked to the device. The biggest difference compared to a private IP address is the approach. Everyone has access to the public IP address via the internet, whereas the private IP address has a VPN tunnel. This means that all IP addresses are located within the VPN and are therefore not accessible from the outside. Users must be logged in to the VPN before they can connect to the IP address. The advantage of this extra security is that devices do not need to be secured individually and there is much less risk of external attacks.
